A few years ago we borrowed and scanned our family pictures. This allowed all descendents from the Godin family to have a copy of them. Included with the files was a description with each of the photographs and a one-page genealogy that traced our family to Charles Gaudin who had settled in New France over 350 years ago.
I was curious and starting looking on-line for more details on the family genealogy. This small amount of interest led to many hours of research for this project.
I have been frustrated and disappointed at times but have also been pleased with some of the information that I was able to gather on-line such as census, register and notary documents. I read 100s of books written about various communities and people in New France, searched thousands of newspapers and web sites and gathered what interesting and pertinent information these books contained.
From my research I composed many documents on various aspects of life for our forefathers and, by placing them on this web space, am able to share these with anyone that is interested. The information is as accurate as I can ensure.
